Excellent project

Rating:
Pros:
  • Good instructions
Cons:
  • Whimpy magnet catch
I made one of these for my wife and she was over the moon happy. Happy wife, happy husband. Life is good. The only downside to the plan is the magnetic catch. It works, but it is a bit whimpy. built to plan specs even a beginner wood worker can tackle this project if they just follow each step slowly and methodically. Also, look around at different hardwood suppliers and see if you can find some 1/2" walnut instead of 3/4". That will save you the hassle of resawing on a bandsaw. I am going to build two more for my daughters this Christmas. This time round though I will dovetail the drawers and find a better magnetic catch.
