2015 Weekend with Wood

I was lucky enough to attend the Weekend with Wood (WWW) event in Des Moines this year. What a tremendous event; just not enough superlatives to describe it. I’m a novice woodworker and have dabbled in the hobby for forty plus years. As I inch closer to retirement and envision some additional free time in my future, I was looking for ways to hone my skills. Attending WWW this past May was a great step in this process. Seeing up close demonstrations and hearing from the masters of the craft were tremendous learning opportunities. Out of my eight 2 –hour classes, three were with George Vondriska, two were with Jim Heavey, and one was with John Olson. Each of these sessions were packed with info and the two hour time allotment just flew by. And then to take time early each morning and go upstairs to see the finished projects from past Wood issues was a bonus. Truly a great experience…… and yes, I just finished my registration for WWW 2016. Can’t wait.

I just registered for the 2016 Weekend with Wood. After attending last May, I knew I'd be going back. It was a great experience. As a newbie to wood working, I was extremely impressed by the knowledge of the instructors and their ability to communicate what they knew. Every session I attended was excellent. Adding to the experience was the friendliness and willingness to share of the other attendees. I'm looking forward to next May, and I'm trying to recruit a couple of my buddies.
