In Furniture Making: Secrets, Skills and Techniques, you'll discover all the techniques needed to create beautiful Mission-style tables. In Volume 2, you'll visit Master Woodworker George Vondriska in his shop where he'll continue our table project by beginning with some secrets of the pros for cutting mortises for the upper and lower rails on the drill press.

He'll also share a cool trick for using a miter saw to cut shop-made table top fasteners. If you're a fan of joinery using a drill press, you'll discover some skilled techniques on using Forstner bits to cut clean mortises. There's also a valuable demonstration of cutting tenons on slats and rails using a dado blade in your table saw. Once that's done, George shows a trick for rounding the tenons to fit perfectly into his Forstner-cut mortises.

George takes you, step by step, through the process of finishing all table parts including routing, sanding and dry-fitting, plus a wealth of information on gluing, sanding and finishing your project. Finally, some great tips for perfect glue-ups. You also discover more homemade jigs, joinery secrets, and plenty of shop tips you'll want to try in your shop. At the end of this tip-filled video, you'll have all the skills you need to finish your mission-style table.
