Votive Candle Tray

Simple enough project for the novice woodworker like myself. It helps to have a thickness planer for the 3/8 thick wood required per the plans. I made a prototype first and worked out a few bugs. I made a couple jigs for the 1/8 inch dado and the quarter rounds for the feet/legs. For safety, you need to think through the Step 1, Step 2 Step 3 in order to cut the 1/4 inch round over, the 1/8 inch dado (1 inch deep) and the 3/8 round over on the "Top Trim" pieces.

With the jigs I then made 10 more Candle Trays all at once. I will be giving them away as Christmas Presents. I used Sapele Mahogany for mine exclusively. I stained them with Minwax Golden Oak 210B and then applied 4 coats of Watco Danish Oil (Natural).
