Use an ordinary knife to slice bread and you'll end up with odd-shaped pieces and piles of crumbs. But put this star performer to work and you'll get evenly sliced pieces every time, thanks to its offset shape and special serrated blade. To make it, you'll need just a bandsaw, a router, a drum sander, the supplied patterns, and some contrasting woods.

Project Kit contains stainless-steel bread knife, 2 stainless-steel screws, and leather strap handle for one knife. Project Kit and plans sold separately. (See photo. Lumber not included with Project Kit.)

Like other review I should have read fine print. Kit only included a blade and piece of leather. No plans or instructions. I paid $15 for a blade that they sell at the store for $6. Not happy!!

Slice and serve Bread Knife Project Kit

Rating:
Pros:
Cons:
  • No plans

I ordered the kit, I assumed that a "kit" would contain the material needed to make the knife. Instead I only received a knife blade, 2 screws and a piece of leather shoe lace. No instructions or plans. I should have read the fine print before ordering. Just beware, if you order the kit, do not expect to be able to make the knife!

Editors note: Our apologies for the confusion. We do list that the plan is sold separately from the kit. We sell the kits separately from the plans because it is possible that someone would want to order more than one kit, while only needing one plan. With each item listed separately, we can keep costs down and only charge for the items our customers want. Thanks for your understanding.
