Computer-Controlled Routers

Remember those childlike promises of computers making our lives easier. Well, they’ve finally come true in the woodworking shop with the advent of affordable computer numeric controlled (CNC) routers. These machines automatically move a router bit left to right, front to back, and up and down—all at the same time—to cut, shape, or carve with amazing precision. Think of them as a 3-D printer for WOOD.
